However, I wanted to say this —
I see one shadow and two figures.
Which figure casts a shadow?
Perhaps, neither, for the Sun has no place in the scene, nor any hint of its locus. Perhaps, the shadow is independent, of the two figures, belonging to some hypothetical third figure, perhaps even to the name of the artist floating “below” the scene.
