Eternal griping

Today’s Old Picture of the Day illustrates that even back in 1938, when gas was at 20 cents a gallon, people complained enough that one gas station owner decided he had to explain how the cost was derived.

    I’d post an old picture — but I can’t.

    Indeed, isn’t “old picture” rather redundant? A picture by definition is already a thing of the past.

    Yet, no one says “A TV image is worth is a thousand words…”

    (ATM images are worth lots of money, though.)
