“A five-alarm fire early Friday destroyed three West End businesses, including the Wabash Triangle Cafe – a stop for poets and other artists.”

“More was lost in a recent fire at the Wabash Triangle Cafe than the building itself. The cafe had become a haven for rare creatures who must now find another place to perform and hang out.”

I’d like to give credit where it’s due, but I found the above image online in 2002, and didn’t write down the source. If anyone knows who took the above photograph, please let me know.

The quasi famous David J Dubowski is a fireman in the St. Louis area who has long been taking photographs of fires. I couldn’t find that one posted on the internet — probably because internet was not yet the central medium of the times that it now is.

He’s a good possibility. this reference to the Fire in the Lens exhibit, mentions a Dubowski photograph of the Wabash, though the description suggests a different photo.
