I’m sure some will suggest that the AP or USA Today (whoever wrote the caption) intended ‘left’ as directional. However, one glance at the picture and it’s clear that it’s Michelle Obama who is to the left of Obama, directionally. Therefore they had to mean ‘left’ politically. It’s the only other option.
I have this friend…
He’s planning a European vacation.
He calls his credit card company, and tells them
there will be some charges
from Europe,
and not to get all excited,
and think his identity’s been stolen,
or something.
They ask what countries.
He tells them: Czechoslavakia.
The clerk is confused
because no such country
has existed
her entire life.
