St. Louis born writer of poetry, creative non-fiction, science-fiction, and fantasy, John Newmark performs his poetry at local open-mics and during the day works at a local not-for-profit. He was interviewed in The Roof is on Fire, a documentary on the St. Louis Performance Poetry scene of the early 1990s.

His appreciation for the 19th Century French author, Victor Hugo, led to his development of the website, Victor Hugo Central, back in 2000. In 2007 he began blogging on genealogy research at TransylvanianDutch Genealogy. He can be found on Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest.

He is a member of the St. Louis Artists Guild.
